Caio Cesar Machado e Silva

Caio holds a Bachelor's Degree in Materials Engineering (NFQ Level 8 equivalent) from his native Brazil. His early career focused on large-scale retrofitting of social housing projects, where he managed the rollout of energy-saving initiatives and performance evaluation practices.

Since relocating to Ireland in 2020 and joining Cork Energy Consultancy in 2023, Caio has studied Irish building regulations and qualified as a BER Assessor. He has recently completed a Level 9 postgraduate course at TU Dublin titled Building Performance (Energy Efficiency in Design). This program covers advanced topics such as dynamic simulation modelling, energy-efficient design, thermal bridge calculation, and hygrothermal risk assessment. (WUFI Pro , Mold 7 Pro).

At Cork Energy Consultancy, Caio has led the retrofit design of over 350 dwellings and has carried out BER assessments and Part L certification for 150 new-build houses and apartment schemes.

Caio is Head of Domestic Retrofit Services at Cork Energy Consultancy and leads the team of 3 engineers.
