The Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland provides a range of grants to help homeowners improve energy efficiency, reduce energy bills, and make homes more comfortable. These grants support upgrades such as insulation, renewable energy systems, and heating improvements. One Stop Shop / Full Home Retrofit Grant

Up to 50% of total project cost

If you want to do multiple upgrades at once and take your home to a B2 rating or better, the One Stop Shop scheme offers the highest level of grant support available.

Warmer Homes Scheme

If your household receives certain social welfare payments you may qualify for fully funded home energy upgrades at no cost to you.

Traditional Building Scheme

Up to 50% of total project cost

In 2024, the SEAI introduced a new scheme to fill a void where no grants were available to correctly insulate pre-1940 stone, brick, and solid walls.

Energy Audit Voucher

If your business spends more than €10,000 a year on energy, you could be entitled to a voucher towards the cost of a professional energy audit.

Solar PV Grant

Generate your own electricity with rooftop solar panels and reduce your reliance on the grid.

Windows and Doors Grant

Introduced in 2026, this grant supports the replacement of draughty inefficient windows and doors with high performance energy efficient units.

External Wall Insulation Grant

External wall insulation wraps the outside of your home in an insulating layer, dramatically reducing heat loss and improving your BER rating.

Internal Wall Insulation Grant

Also known as dry lining, internal wall insulation is suited to older solid wall homes where cavity wall insulation isn't an option.

Cavity Wall Insulation Grant

If your home has cavity walls, filling them is one of the quickest ways to reduce heat loss and lower your heating bills.

Heat Pump Grant

Up to €12,500

Replace your old heating system with a modern heat pump and significantly cut your energy bills and carbon footprint.

Attic Insulation Grant

One of the most cost-effective upgrades you can make, attic insulation prevents heat escaping through your roof and improves comfort throughout the home.

Heating Controls Grant

Upgrade your heating system with modern controls so you can manage your heating more efficiently and stop paying to heat rooms you're not using.

EV Home Charger Grant

If you drive an electric vehicle, this grant helps cover the cost of installing a home charging point so you can charge overnight at a fraction of the cost of public charging.
