Kevin O'Keefe
Domestic BER and retrofit
Kevin studied Sustainable Energy Engineering at Munster Technological University, following six years of travelling that provided valuable life and professional experience. His academic background spans HVAC systems, thermodynamics, energy systems management, wind energy, building services, climate change and energy, and parametric modelling.
During his studies, Kevin joined Cork Energy Consultancy, where he has progressed into a full-time role and developed extensive practical experience in domestic energy efficiency and retrofit.Since joining, he has contributed to more than 200 projects, gaining hands-on experience across domestic retrofit design, BER assessment surveys, and One Stop Shop retrofit projects.

Kevin has recently completed his assessment to become a SEAI-registered BER Assessor, further strengthening his expertise in building energy performance and energy efficiency. His experience combines technical knowledge with practical, project-based understanding of the challenges involved in delivering effective domestic retrofit solutions.
He is particularly interested in developing practical, cost-effective and energy-efficient solutions that improve building performance and support Ireland’s transition towards a more sustainable built environment. Kevin is continuing to develop his expertise within the sustainable energy sector, with a particular focus on domestic retrofit and building energy performance.
