Kevin O'Keefe

Kevin returned to education as a mature student to pursue a degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering at Munster Technological University, following nine years of experience working as a chef. His academic studies have covered a range of topics including HVAC Systems, Thermodynamics, Parametric Modelling, Energy Systems Management, Wind Energy Systems, Climate Change and Energy, Building Services and Processes, Material Science, and Product Design.

Kevin began working with Cork Energy Consultancy after initially inquiring about internship opportunities. With his course requiring attendance only 2.5 days per week, he was able to start working two days per week, later increasing to three. From May 19th, he will transition into a full-time role.

At Cork Energy Consultancy, Kevin is primarily involved in domestic retrofit design, conducting surveys for BER certification, and contributing to One Stop Shop retrofit design projects. Kevin has recently passed his test to become a SEAI registered BER assessor.
